Actionstep Admin Menu

This article will give you an overview of the different sections within the admin menu. To access the admin menu click on the Admin button at the top right of your Actionstep screen.


The admin menu contains tiles that link to specific settings for various parts of the system. It also allows you to access/edit your subscription , perform imports and view audit logs.



Menu Descriptions

General Settings
This is where you can add/change company details, logos, quick codes, Timekeeping options, Abbreviations, date formats and turn on/off feature previews.
Actionstep PaymentsManage your client's payments via credit card, online or retainer.
Matter TypesManage matter types, here you can edit settings to your matter types and create new matter types.
Here you can edit time entry preferences, invoice templates, disbursements, taxes, income accounts and rate labels
Trust AccountingThis is where you will find your trust bank accounts and system accounts.
Users & PermissionsThis is where you can invite new users to your Actionstep system and change permissions.
Here you will find a list of integrations and can connect to them.
EmailThis is where you can configure inbound and outbound emails, Manage email aliases and email templates.
Document AssemblyThis is where you will find a list of system & custom merge fields, the merge field test tool and non matter document templates.
Custom List Views

Here you can find and manage all custom list views in the system.
DivisionsThis is where you can add /edit and view divisions.
DashboardsHere you can create and edit dashboards reports.
AccountingThis is where you set up and edit settings to your accounting system such Xero, Quickbooks, Actionstep internal accounting.
Additional SettingsHere you can add/edit participant types, Marketing mediums, Tags, sales/purchase types, currencies, public holidays for calendars, participant relationship types and gender classifications.
Your SubscriptionThis is where you can view your billing information, account payment setup and Actionstep's terms and conditions.
Import DataThis is where can import billing , matters, custom data, contacts and Accounting information into your Actionstep system.
Audit LogsThis is where you view client portal audit log, admin audit logs, database backup history and complete an accounting health check.
