System Preferences - Quick Codes

Quick-codes are a time saver allowing you to use pre-set descriptions on tasks, time entries and invoice payments. This article will explain how to create, edit and delete quick-codes.

 

Creating Quick-Codes

  1. Click on Admin.
  2. Select the General settings tile.
  3. Scroll down to the Quick-codes section.
  4. Click on Create a quick-code./helpdesk/attachments/150002489378
  5. Add the following information:  
    Code (example - RecFC)
    Long Description (example - Received by client)
    Tick where you want the quick-code to be used.
  6. Click Save.

The code that you have created will appear in the Quick-code dropdown box when creating tasks, time entries, withdrawals or client receipts (the applicable area you selected it to be used). The text entered in the long description will populate the descriptions or memos in those forms.

Additional quick-codes can be created by selecting + Create new quick-code at the bottom of the Quick-code dropdown.

Editing Quick-Codes

  1. Click on Admin.
  2. Select the General settings tile.
  3. Scroll down the the quick-code section.
  4. Select the code that you would like to edit.
  5. Once you have made the changes, click the Save button.

 

Deleting Quick-Codes

  1. Click on Admin.
  2. Select the General settings tile.
  3. Scroll down the the quick-code section.
  4. Select the code that you would like to delete.
  5. Click on the Delete button.
  6. Enter a reason for the deletion and click the Delete Selection button.

FAQs

Q. I want a quick-code to have a certain rate, for example, a quick-code for an AML check as we always charge $50.00 for this.  Can we do this?

A. Yes. A rate label can be associated with a quick-code. When the quick-code is selected, the time entry will use that rate. For more information see Creating a Rate Label
