Setting Up SMS Alerts (Admin)

Actionstep's SMS function allows users to send one-direction SMS messages to any party and has the ability to send reminders of calendar appointments to your clients.




Enabling SMS in Your System

Enabling SMS functionality in your system may result in changes to your subscription.



To set up SMS:

  1. In Actionstep, go to Admin > Email & SMS. The Email & SMS page appears.
  2. Click Edit next to the SMS Alerts option. The SMS Alerts page appears.
  3. Toggle Enable SMS to on. Additional options appear on the page.
  4. To agree to the pricing, select I accept the changes to my subscription.
  5. Optionally, to configure SMS reminders to be sent for calendar appoints, toggle Enable SMS Reminder to on. (Full instructions for this option are available in Setting Up SMS Calendar Reminders, below.) 
  6. Click Save to save your changes. 




Setting Up SMS Calendar Reminders

You can have Actionstep send reminders based on events shown in your calendar.



To do this:

  1. Complete the steps outlined in the previous section, Enabling SMS in Your System
  2. Make sure Enable SMS Reminder is toggled to on.
  3. Choose which party on the matter receives the reminder:
    • Client represents the client participant on the matter.
    • Primary Participant represents the contact in the role that has been specified as the primary participant on the matter.
  4. Toggle Send to Actionstep users to on to have Actionstep users receive SMS reminders when they occupy the specified party type in the matter.
