When you need to share documents that are stored in Actionstep with your colleagues, you can send them a link to the document, which they can then use to review the document directly in the matter. This means that rather than emailing the document itself, which creates a duplicate copy of the document, you can just share the link to the document in Actionstep. This option makes it easier to collaborate with your peers.
Notes:
- You can only copy the link for a single document at a time.
- To view the document, the recipient of the link must have access to the matter the document is associated with and the folder it is saved in.
To share documents with colleagues using a link:
- View the matter where your document is stored. (See Editing a Matter for help.)
- Click the View menu icon. The Matter View page appears.
- Right-click on the document you want to share and choose Copy link from the shortcut menu. The link is copied to your Clipboard.TIP: If you’re previewing the document, you can also click Copy link in the toolbar above the document preview.
- Paste the link in whatever program you are using to share it (e.g., an email message, instant message, etc.) and then share the message. The link is shared with the recipient.
Once a recipient receives the link, they can click it and be taken to the Matter View page where the document will be highlighted and shown in the Preview pane.
