The Actionstep Practice Management Client Portal feature helps law firms communicate and share documents with their clients. Once it's enabled, you can access it directly from a matter while clients can access a pared-down version that gives them access to document sharing and communication.

The Client Portal:
- Provides an encrypted communication and document exchange platform to keep all parties secure.
- Allows you to customize permissions for users to control who can read, create, upload, or delete documents by folder. For example, limiting permissions to "upload only" allows several unrelated parties to upload documents to a central folder while retaining confidentiality.
- Instantly notifies clients each time you upload or update a document in the portal (via the matter's Documents tab).
- Helps you securely collaborate in real-time with parties involved in the matter.
