Modified on Tue, 17 Jan, 2023 at 8:18 PM

In this article, you will learn more about Actionstep's email functionality. There are several links to more detailed articles below.

NOTE: Actionstep's email is designed to be a matter email management system. It is not designed to have the same functionality as an email client like Outlook or Gmail and as such has various integration options to commonly used email clients.

There are numerous ways that you can associate emails to matters within Actionstep, and there are various views that categorize the emails.

Email Setup

Actionstep allows you to send emails out of, and assign emails to, your Actionstep system. For more information, please see Email Setup.

Email Views

Emails are grouped together into categorized list views, as per the screenshot below. You can navigate to this menu by hovering over Comms on the main menu.

Email Associations

There are various methods to associate emails to matters. To learn more about these methods, please see Email In Actionstep.

Actionstep offers an integration with Microsoft, which will allow you to associate emails to matters from Outlook. See Using the Outlook Add-in for more information.

Actionstep also offers a Google Add-on (Formerly Gadget) to allow the assigning of emails to matters from Gmail. See Using the Gmail Add-on for more information.

Q: Can I send a mass email to all of my clients?

A: Currently, we do not have a bulk email function, however, you can create a contact custom list view that will pull all of your client's emails into a list. You can export the contact list view as well!

For more information on creating custom list views, please see our article on Creating Custom List Views.
