Introduction To Matter Custom Data

Modified on Tue, 17 Jan 2023 at 08:27 PM

Custom Data is a way of storing important information within a matter and can be arranged in a number of different ways. For example, you may want to record settlement dates for conveyancing matters, and this can be done through a custom data field.

In Actionstep, when there is a collection of data fields we refer to them as a custom data collection and the individual text fields are referred to as custom data fields. These fields also act as merge fields.

When creating matter data you need to create a data collection first, then create the fields that will go into it.

Viewing Custom Data

You will find any custom data collections on the top menu bar of your matter.

When you click on a custom data collection this will take you to the custom data for that collection.
