System Preferences - Regional Date Formats

Modified on Tue, 10 Jan 2023 at 10:35 PM

This article will go over how to access and edit your regional date formats.

This section allows the admin user to be able to change how dates appear in the system. This will also affect the default format for dates that are used in merge fields.

NOTE: You may not see some of these option in your Actionstep system. If you would like to see these settings, please contact Support and ask for the plug-in to be enabled.

NOTE: There are some exceptions where the date formates in Actionstep are still hard-coded and will not be affected by the following format options.

Accessing the Regional Date Format Options

  1. Click on Admin.
  2. Select the General Settings tile.
  3. Scroll down to the Regional date formats section.
  4. Click Save after making any changes.

Here you will find the following settings:

Setting Description
User input date format

This will set the date format that users are expected to enter dates when typing them. The main purpose of this is to differentiate if the date will be entered in American date format (Month / Date / Year) or European format (Date / Month / Year).

This field will be used in most parts of the system such as enter a date on a custom data field. The second ‘User input date’ field that you will see below is use in older forms in Actionstep, such as older reports like the Multi Matter Profitability report.
