Introduction to Participant Types

Modified on Tue, 17 Jan 2023 at 09:16 PM

Overview

Adding participant types to your matters allows you to assign contact records according to how they will be involved. This is useful not only for knowing who is playing what role in the matter, but also for automating tasks and other items in the workflow.

For example, you can generate a document which automatically inserts the name, address and other information from a contact record for this matter based on their role (participant type).

When contacts are associated with matters they are associated as certain participant types (roles).

Participant types can be used to classify groups of people within workflows. They are referred to as 'parties' within matters.
