Webforms Overview

Modified on Fri, 23 Aug at 1:09 PM

Webforms connect your public-facing website with your Actionstep system and allow you to quickly and easily create forms that will post data directly into Actionstep. The submitted records are posted into a safety zone first, allowing you to review the information before creating or updating matters from them.

Each webform is linked to a specific matter type and can be used to display fields from the parties and the custom data defined for that matter type.

Webforms can be used for all sorts of data-capture requirements. Examples include sales inquiries, "contact us" pages, survey results, support requests, and requests for further information.

Webforms help you remove some of the technical barriers to linking your website forms to your Actionstep system. Using Actionstep's form builder, creating the form lets you choose and then arrange which fields you want on the form. All you need is the appropriate permission in Actionstep and access to your website content management system.

Then, once the form is created, your website developer can use the code to implement the form on your firm's website.

NOTE:  To hide webform menu items and notifications, an admin can go to Admin > Users & Permissions > Menu Permissions. Then, click Actionstep_Main_Menu and for each system role you want to hide web forms for, clear the checkbox in the Web Forms column. Then Save your changes.
