In the UK, trust accounts are called client accounts. Throughout this article, any reference to a trust account also means a client account.
Trust requests can be enabled in all Actionstep systems except for Australian customers that fall under the Queensland or Uniform regulations. If you are interested in this functionality, contact Actionstep Support to learn more.
Setting trust request permissions is only available to those using the default accounting system available in Actionstep.
As an admin user, you can choose which of your system users can perform different trust request tasks.
To do this:
- In Actionstep, go to Admin > Users & permissions. The Users & Permissions page appears.
- Click Data permissions in the list of options on the right side of the page. The Permissions page appears.
- Click the System Role drop-down list and choose the role whose permissions you want to adjust.
- Click the System Object drop-down list and choose Trust Accounting.
- Review the list of different permissions that are specifically related to trust requests:
- Can read only trust request and transaction details: Users in this role can read the trust requests and details regarding the transaction only.
- Can create and update a Trust Request: Users in this role can create trust request and also update trust requests. But does not include details pertaining to the trust transaction itself.
- Can add/update transaction details: Users in this role can add and update the trust transaction details as well for example, the bank account number on a trust request, date or amount.
Can Update Approved transaction details: Users in this role can update a trust request after it has been approved for example, the bank account number, date or amount. We would advise restricting this permission only to administrators and trust accountants who are authorized to amend approved trust requests.
Can delete request: Users in this role can delete a trust request.
Can be approver: Users in this role can approve a trust request, reject a trust request or request further information.
Can add/remove request approvers: Users in this role can add or remove approvers to a trust request.
- To enable the permission for the user role, select the checkmark before the permission name. (Clear it to disable it.)
- Click Save to save and apply your changes.
