Setting Permissions for AML Status Updates (Admin)

Modified on Tue, 25 Jun at 11:31 AM

When completing AML risk assessments, you may need to limit who can update the review status in this workflow. By default, all users in your system have this ability; however, you can limit these interactions to just specific roles. Specifically, you can assign roles based on these specific AML-related tasks:

  • Changing a matter’s AML review status
  • Changing a matter’s AML review status to ‘Complete’.
  • Changing a matter’s AML status to ‘Not Required’.

Even when users do not have permission to change the AML review status, they can still view the assigned status.

To assign permissions to the AML review workflow:

  1. In Actionstep, go to Admin > Users & Permissions. The Users & Permissions page appears.
  2. Click Data permissions in the right-side pane. The Permissions page appears.
  3. Click the System Role drop-down list and choose the role you want to assign the specific permission to.
  4. Click the System Object drop-down list and choose Action AML Status.
  5. Select (or clear) the checkbox for the AML permissions you want the system role to have (or not have). Please note that each permission is dependent on the preceding permission being selected:
    • can_edit_action_aml_status: This permission lets the user edit the AML status for any matter types they have "read" access to.
    • can_set_action_aml_status_to_complete: This permission lets the user set the AML status to "Complete" for any matter types they have access to.
    • can_set_action_aml_status_to_not_required: This permission lets the user set the AML status to "Not Required" for any matter types they have access to.
    • can_set_bypass_aml_validation_until_date: This permission lets the user temporarily bypass the AML status check when creating a trust transaction. (See Restrict Trust Transactions Based on AML Status for more information.)
  6. When you’re finished assigning permissions for the current role, click Save.
  7. Repeat this process for any additional roles you want to grant permissions to.
