Matter View FAQ

The following questions and answers can help you troubleshoot some common issues with Matter Views:

• Is there a file size limit that affects previewing items?

Is there a file size limit that affects previewing items? 

Currently, there is a limit of 15MB for all items. Actionstep is exploring extending this limit for videos and PDFs.

I cannot view my file note or document tags?

Unfortunately, you cannot view any tags in Matter View.

If I select multiple files, why I can't perform any actions? 

At this time we do not allow you to perform actions across multiple files at the same time.

Can I add files to the Matter View?

No. To add new files to a matter, you must complete these actions while viewing the Documents page. Once added to the Documents page, they will be included in the Matter View. 

Can I edit the document properties while on the Matter View page? 

While viewing the Matter View page, you can only review document properties. To update them, please edit the file on the Documents page. 

Can I filter documents/emails by a certain type? 

No, unfortunately there no additional filters for this type of refinement. 

Can I search files for specific text? 

Searching is not available in Matter View. To search for specific content in a document, go to the Documents page and use the search feature to search in Matter Documents. You can also use the Advanced Search option (located in the More menu). 

Can I create a file note or email in this view? 

Matter View is primarily a tool for viewing the various files associated with your matter. To create a note or email or upload a document, do so on those individual pages
