Participant Types Overview

Modified on Thu, 15 May at 1:31 PM

Participant types can be used to classify groups of people within your different workflows. They are referred to as parties within matters.

By default, Actionstep includes a list of common participant types. However, if you have a participant type that isn't included in this list, you can add it so that it can be used in your different matter types as well as in any documents you associate with your matters or clients.

Adding participant types to your matters allows you to assign contact records according to how they will be involved. This is useful not only for knowing who is playing what role in the matter, but also for automating tasks and other items in the workflow.

You can access a list of participant types by going to Admin > Additional settings and clicking Edit next to Participant types
