NOTE: In the UK, trust accounts are called client accounts. Throughout this article, any reference to a trust account also means a client account.
You can produce a trust statement for a client. Using this option, you can include only one trust account for a matter at a time on the statement.
NOTE: One-off statements are NOT stored against the matter. To generate regular monthly statements, instead use the Multiple Statement Generator.
To generate a one-off statement for a client:
- In Actionstep, do one of the following to access the One-Off Statement page:
- Click the global Create button and choose Statement from the Trust Accounting group. (You may need to click Show all to view this option.) The One-Off Statement page appears.
- Go to Trust > Statements > One-Off Statement. The One-Off Statement page appears.
- View the matter you want to generate the statement for, hover over the Trust account menu icon, and choose Statements. The Trust Accounting > One-Off Statement page appears. NOTE: If you instead click the Trust Accounting menu and are taken to the Trust page/list, click Statements in the left-side menu, and then Generate one-off statement.
- On the One-Off Statement page, click the Matter drop-down list and choose the matter associated with this statement. (If you initiated the statement from the matter itself, this option is not available.)
- Click the Trust Account drop-down list and choose the trust account you want to produce the trust statement for.
- Enter the Statement Period you wish to run the trust statement for. You can use the drop-down options to more quickly identify the period of time for the statement.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Download: Choose this option to save a PDF copy of the statement to your computer. (Check your browser's default Downloads folder to view the PDF.) Remember, this statement is not saved automatically to the matter, but you could later upload it manually if you choose to.
- Email: Choose this option to send a PDF attachment of the statement to the client associated with the matter. When you choose this option an email message is displayed, using the template you've set up for this workflow. You can make adjustments to the message, if needed. Click Send to send the email.
