Users are able to add invoice delivery settings on a step change. This provides a means of configuring the "Basics" section of the matter billing options screen for a matter on a specific step of the matter's workflow. Email template selection and invoice printing options can be displayed to make selections at the appropriate point in your workflow/process. This will give your firm the opportunity to lodge all relevant client data against the matter first and then use that contact data to configure invoice delivery settings.
This feature is currently in feature preview. It can be enabled by administrators in Admin > General settings in the Feature Preview section.
Setup
To enable Billing Settings on a step change, navigate to your desired workflow step in Admin > Matter Types > {your matter type} > Workflow > {your workflow step}. In the "Step actions" section, toggle on "Billing Settings."
Once enabled, a Billing Settings section will be displayed. Enable Email settings and/or Printing settings for the step. This will display the billing setting options when moving to this step in the workflow.
Step Change
When moving to the step with Billing settings enabled, the corresponding sections will display. If these settings have been entered in the matter billing options, the previously selected values will populate the fields automatically.
Bill production: Email settings
A billing email template can be selected. An email address or addresses can be entered. If an email address or email addresses have been entered on the matter billing options screen for the matter, this information will display and can be amended.
Bill production: Printing settings
The number of invoice copies to print can be set to Do not print, 1 copy, or 2 copies.
