The Matter Wiki page allows you and others in your organization to collectively create, edit, and manage informational content for a specific matter. It is designed to facilitate the sharing and updating of information by multiple contributors.
When viewing the Wiki, content can either be displayed in List View (where all content is available) or Contextual View (where content is only visible based on which step of the workflow you are in). (See Using the Wiki Views at the end of this article for more information.)
Adding a Wiki Article to a Matter
You can write wiki articles directly within the matter's wiki page.
To do this:
- Edit the matter. See Editing a Matter for help.
- Click the Wiki menu icon.
The Wiki page appears. - Click the Create drop-down button and choose Wiki Article. The Create Wiki Article page appears.
- Enter an Article File Name and Status.
- Select Pin to Contextual View to ensure the content is always visible when viewing the wiki in Contextual View.
- Select Add to Wiki Menu to include the article in the Wiki menu.
- In the Linked Resources section, click Add Association to associate the wiki article with a specific matter resource (Step, Step Tree, Task, or Data Field) and then complete the remaining fields.
- Add a Section Title and select Show Title if you want the title to appear in the article.
- Add your article text in the Section Content box.
TIP: For help formatting your text, click the How to format your text link above the editor. - Click Add Section to add additional content (text, file, image, or link) to the article and provide the required information.
- Repeat this process for each additional section you want in the article.
- When your finished creating the article, click Save.
Adding a Wiki Link to a Matter
You can include links to other resources in your Wiki.
To do this:
- Edit the matter. See Editing a Matter for help.
- Click the Wiki menu icon. The Wiki page appears.
- Click the Create drop-down button and choose Wiki Link. The Create Wiki Link page appears.
- Enter a Link Name and Status.
- Enter the Link to the website you want to include in the wiki.
- Select Pin to Contextual View to ensure the link is always visible when viewing the wiki page in Contextual View.
- Select Add to Wiki Menu to include the link in the Wiki menu.
- In the Linked Resources section, click Add Association to associate the link with a specific matter resource (Step, Step Tree, Task, or Data Field) and then complete the remaining fields.
- When your finished adding the link, click Save.
Adding a Wiki Document (or File) to a Matter
You can add documents to your wiki.
To do this:
- Edit the matter. See Editing a Matter for help.
- Click the Wiki menu icon. The Wiki page appears.
- Click the Create drop-down button and choose Wiki File. The Create Wiki File page appears.
- Enter a File Name and Status.
- Select Pin to Contextual View to ensure the file is always visible when viewing the wiki in Contextual View.
- Select Add to Wiki Menu to include the file in the Wiki menu.
- Click Choose File to find and select the file you want to upload.
- In the Linked Resources section, click Add Association to associate the file with a specific matter resource (Step, Step Tree, Task, or Data Field) and then complete the remaining fields.
- When your finished adding the file, click Save.
Editing Wiki Content
There may be times you need to edit your wiki content after you've edited it.
To do this:
- Edit the matter. See Editing a Matter for help.
- Click the Wiki menu icon. The Wiki page appears.
- In the list of wiki resources, select the resource you want to edit.
- Click Edit. The page for editing the resource is opened.
- Make your changes and click Save to save them.
Using the Wiki Views
When viewing the Wiki page, you change how the information is displayed by clicking either Contextual View or List View:
- Contextual View: This shows all Wiki resources that are either linked to the user's current context (which step of the matter they are currently on and which tasks are active), or articles that have been pinned to the Contextual View.
- List View: This view display the articles within the Wiki in a more traditional list view that can be sorted and filtered—like other list views in Actionstep.
