In this article:
You can upload any number of file types to a matter. For example, you can upload Word documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, images, and so forth. These files will be available for this matter.

To view a complete list of files in the matter, use the matter View page. See Working with the Matter View Page for help.
Uploading Files
If you have saved files you want to associate with this matter, you can upload them to the matter.
To do this:
- Edit the matter you want to upload documents to. (See Editing a Matter for help.)
- Click the Documents menu icon. The Matter Documents page appears.
TIP: If you don't see the folder you want to add the document to, you can create it by selecting the parent folder for the new one you are creating and then clicking the Add Folder icon. - Do one of the following tasks to complete the upload:
- Click Upload and then browse for and select the file you want to upload.
- Locate the file on your computer, select it, and drag it to the document list.
- Complete the information requested on the Upload window and click Done. The document is added to the matter.
Finding Files in a Matter
Once files are added to the Matter Documents list, you can either browse through the folders or search them to find them.
To do this:
- Edit the matter where you need to find the related documents. (See Editing a Matter for help.)
- Click the Documents menu icon. The Matter Documents page appears.
- Use these icons to find the files. (See Steps 4 & 5.)
- To quickly find files by searching for their names:
- Click the Search mode icon.
- Click the Matter Documents drop-down list to specify which area of the matter you want to search: Matter Documents, Email Attachments, or Documents Trash.
- Enter the term you want to search on in the Search box and click Go. Any files that match your search are displayed in the results list.
- To find files using the folder structure available:
- Click the Browse mode icon. The view changes to show a folder structure on the left side of the Matter Documents list, which you can use to find the file you are looking for.
