Time and Fee Entries Report

The Time and Fee Entries report lists all fee entries per matter. It includes summaries, write-offs, and worked vs to bill settings. Each entry provides insight into whether it has been billed, which invoice contains the entry, or if it is unbilled.


Accessing the Report

To find the Time and Fee Entries report head to Reports > Billing Reports > select Time and Fee Entries Report.

Clicking on the star next to the report name will add that report to your favourites, making it easier to find in the future.


 

Filters

Before you generate the report, there are a number of filters you can apply to control what results the report will give you.

Basic


FilterDescription
Date rangeThis dictates which entries display based on the date of the entry.
Date fieldAllows for the report to run by timesheet date or Invoice date.
TimekeeperThis filter allows you to select a specific timekeeper / Multiple timekeepers or All timekeepers
CurrencyThis determines the currency for displaying the dollar amount.

 

Layout Options:

Group detail by

By default, the report is grouped into tables by date. However, this can be changed to group by:

  • Client
  • Matter
  • Matter Type
  • Timekeeper
  • Responsible lawyer 
  • Entry type (hourly and fixed fee)

Sort detail by

This dictates the order of entries on each table. Entries can be sorted by date:

  • Client 
  • Matter
  • Matter Type
  • Timekeeper
  • Responsible lawyer

Show adjustments as separate lines

  • Toggle this to on will show adjustments on separate lines 
  • Toggle to off and the report will distribute adjustments back to the fee earners instead of showing them as separate lines

Responsible lawyerShows only entries from matters with the selected responsible lawyer(s)
ClientShow only entries for specific a client or clients
MatterShow only entries for a specific matter or matters
Matter typeShow only entries for a specific matter type or types
Billing arrangementShow entries based on the matter billing arrangement (hourly or fixed fee)
Bill statusShow billed or unbilled entries
Bill behaviorShow only entries based on bill behavior of the entry (bill, no charge, hide, or non-billable)
Fee typesShow entries based on fee type ( hourly, fixed fee, discounts, adjustments, or hourly non-billable)
UTBMS TaskShow only entries with a specific UTBMS task code
Quick-codeShow only entries with a specific quick-code or multiple selected quick-codes

Displays write-offs as part of the entry table


Show responsible lawyer summary:Show timekeeper summary:

Show detail displays information about each entry.

Option Description

On screen (HTML) 

This option displays the report results on your current screen

PDF

This option launches a print dialog from a PDF version of the report. To download as PDF, select Save as PDF in the Print > Destination dropdown on the print dialog screen.

MS Excel 

This option downloads an xlsx, MS Excel, file to your computer. This is a great option to perform further calculations in a spreadsheet format.

Save XLSX file to a matter 

After you have selected to run the report in MS Excel you can choose to save the XLSX file directly to a matter using this button.

Save PDF file to a matter

After you have selected to run the report in PDF you can choose to save the PDF directly to a matter using this button.

TIP: Sometimes the PDF viewer will display over this option on your screen, to see the option to save to a matter close the preview screen.
