Using the Copy option on the Matter View page, you can select one or more documents or emails (up to 50) and create copies of them:
- Emails can be copied to a different matter/folder (but not the same matter).
- Documents can be copied to the same matter/folder or a different matter/folder.
Copying a folder counts as a single item toward the limit, regardless of how many files it contains.
Note: If you select only email item(s), clicking Copy from the shortcut menu opens the same same window that's used for email transferring. Emails cannot be copied within the same matter, but can be copied to a different matter and folder.
Before you begin:
- To use this new feature, an admin must enable it by going to Admin > General settings > Matter View Move Copy.
To make copies of emails and documents:
- In Actionstep Practice Management, view the matter whose files you want to copy. (See Editing a Matter for help.)
- Click the matter's View menu icon. The Matter View page appears.
- Select checkboxes for up to 50 items you want to copy. (You can use the Document and Email filters along the top of the list to help you find your files.)
- Right-click on one of the selected files and choose Copy from the list of options.
The Copy window appears.
- If you want to copy the files to a different matter, click Destination Matter and choose the new matter.
- Click the Destination Folder to choose the folder within the destination matter.
- Click Copy. The files are copied to the new location.
