About the Charts and Reports on the Firm Management Dashboard

The information in this article applies to Acumen, a Practice Management add-on that provides enhanced reporting dashboards for your firm. To learn more, please contact your customer success manager or your account representative.

This product is currently in early access.

To access the Firm Management dashboard:

  1. In Practice Management, go to Insights > Business Intelligence. The Insights page is displayed.
  2. Select Firm Management from the list of options on the left side of the page. The Firm Management Dashboard is displayed.

The Firm Management dashboard includes several charts that show you high-level details affecting your firm. Additionally, each chart includes a more detailed report, which contains more in-depth information that helps you understand the data in the chart and, where permitted, allows you to drill further into the details.

  • Purpose: Shows the full financial breakdown that equals the number in the chart/graph while protecting client and matter privacy.
  • What it contains: This report contains the same financial values used to build the chart or graph (fees, disbursements, tax, totals, etc.), but it does not display client names or matter names. Any rows that come from restricted matters are still included here so that the table’s totals match the chart or graph.
  • How restricted matters appear: Restricted items are shown with a simple label or flag such as Restricted or Masked matter. The flag makes it clear that an amount comes from a matter you don’t have permission to view, while still showing the contribution of that matter to the overall total.
  • Why it’s useful: You can always reconcile the chart or dashboard to a report of numbers without exposing private client information. This gives transparency into where a number comes from while keeping sensitive data concealed.

Note: You can export data in a specific chart by clicking the three-dot icon (located in the top-right corner of the chart) and choosing Export to CSV or Export to Excel. (The other options on this mini toolbar perform the same type of functions as what's available in the Controls area.)

Note: These reports/tables are masked and have limited permissions. Reports with detailed data extraction with sensitive information will be available in a later release.
