Understanding How Timekeeping Settings Are Sourced in the Legal Accounting Integration

When recording, editing, or viewing time, Practice Management will follow the settings defined in Legal Accounting to determine whether you are allowed to perform that action. Similar settings available in Practice Management are ignored if you are using the integration.

The following settings in Legal Accounting affect timekeeping in Practice Management:

 

File Numbering and Use Separate Numbering Sequences for Clients, Vendors, and Other Contacts

  • Go to Firm > Settings > File.

 

Time/Fee Restriction Date

  • Go to Firm > Settings > Features.

 

Display Time as, Time Rounding, and Working Hours

  • Go to Firm > Settings > Features.

 

Time Entry Permissions

  • Go to Users > Security > Time Entry.

 

File Group

  • Go to Admin > Contact/Casefile > File Groups.

 

Bill Group

  • Go to Admin > Billing > Billing Groups.

 

Lawyer Rates, Activity Codes, Task Codes, and Tax Groups

  • Go to Admin > Rates/Codes > Rate Groups.

 

Fee Earners for Time Entry

  • Go to Admin > Users > Users.
